Hi! My name is Adelle and I have a terrifying confession:

There was one point in my life that I thought I would be working in retail forever.

I had a college degree but I developed allergies to the work environment and couldn’t stand the way it kept me isolated in small towns (that’s forestry for you!).

Because I had been interested in cosmetics from an early age and worked behind a beauty counter through college, I had something to fall back on while I started to plan for the rest of my life.

People around me were talking about saving for retirement and down payments on homes. But that was just a far away figment of my imagination.  I was living paycheck to paycheck, I didn’t have any family to help me out and I lived in fear of anything going wrong that might cause me to take a big hit financially.

So I kept at it at the mall. I had great sales skills: a natural ability to connect with others, find solutions to their problems and present knowledgeable solutions that were perfect for them.

A lot of industries were suffering around this time and despite those facts you hear about lipstick sales increasing during the great depression, cosmetic sales were not what they used to be. There were weekends when the mall would remain empty.

Then, it happened. It started with seasonal allergies that got progressively worse followed by a mild and then full blown body rash. Soon, I was in so much pain that I could not leave the house.  The stress had finally taken its toll and I found myself sicker than I had ever been in my life. And despite a great deal of effort, my health did not improve for a whole 3 years.

Through it all, I started to get some insights on health and wellness that I realized would really have helped me if I had only heard of them years ago. I knew I had to share this information with as many people as I could- but how? I’ve always been friendly but introverted- it’s really hard for me to be around a lot of people for eight hours a day. I knew I could not go back to the stressful work environment that likely contributed to my illness in the first place.

I had no clue what to do.

I had only started watching YouTube videos on a regular basis when I was housebound and ill. There were so many inspiring, cheerful people sharing their lives online. It inspired me to make a few videos about what I was going through and upload them to YouTube.

I used my creativity and a bit of research to formulate how I was going to get my videos seen by as many people as possible. When I saw that they were starting to increase in views and catch on, I began trying to find out how to monetize my videos but the information out there was so vague.

Since I had nothing else to do, I spent hours every day researching YouTube algorithms, information on SEO, trends.. anything I could find. I experimented with my channel and when I got things just right, the views started racking up.

One day when my I returned from vacation, there was a letter in the mail that I didn’t recognize. I opened it and realized it was a check from YouTube that covered the cost of the flight!

And it didn’t stop there, the checks kept coming, month after month and growing in size. Soon I was getting requests to do voice over work from people who had watched my videos and liked what they heard.  Once word of my success started getting around town, I began to get approached by businesses who wanted me to produce and direct marketing videos for them. Brands wanted to send me products to review for money. I opened two online health stores: one in the US and one in Canada.

And don’t forget the opportunities! YouTube keeps an eye out for up and comers and offers so much support to creators. Don’t forget- you gain millions of coworkers when you become a YouTube partner! Before I knew it, I was on a plane to Los Angeles and hanging with the guys of Epic Meal Time for a party YouTube held in their honor. Their 7 million plus subscribers are backing them to get a tv show on a cable network!

My dream of working for myself and doing what I loved on my own terms had finally come true. The idea of earning passive income was no longer a pipe dream. My YouTube channel was earning me money while I slept, while I dreamt and even while I was on vacation travelling the world.

I was getting a message out there that helped people. And that felt really good too.

And now I can help you get your message out there as well.

Create the life you want! YouTube is a great way to start. If I didn’t have faith that you could do it too, I wouldn’t have written this book.

I would love for you to buy this book, follow the principles and become even more successful! Make it a reality!

Best wishes!

Sincerely,

sig
